Last night we had a HUGE windstorm here. At times we thought we'd be blown away in our trusty Georgie Boy. There were weather warnings broadcast all night long, with rain and even snow in higher elevations. But we're actually lucky. Many areas of the US are being hit with much more severe winter weather.
Marlene has decorated our little Christmas tree, and we've got our Hannukah menorah out and ready for the first night of Hannukah on Friday. Today we went in search of some Hannukah candles, and found them at a little Jewish deli/ market. While there we indulged ourselves with matzoh ball soup and chopped liver sandwich.
We have approved the proofs of our fan cards and business cards, and we're now waiting to hear that they've been printed. The prices for printing here are less than 50% of what we were quoted in Edmonton for similar work.
We've also been sending out emails to tracks across the US and Canada. So far we've sent 347 emails. We hope to get some response, but will probably need to start phoning tracks right after Christmas. We really want to line up some jobs for Armageddon starting in late January or early February.
My friend Andy had an interesting idea. He suggests maybe we should arrange "Dental Tourism" trips for Canadians looking to save money and get away from the cold. Something to think about, for sure.
